Who is this workshop for?

This introductory workshop is perfect for:

  • Complete interior design newbies who want to learn how to design their own home.

  • Beginners and advanced DIYers who’ve always enjoyed decorating and might just have a flair for transforming a room from drab to fab!

  • Homeowners who want to love their home but don’t know where to start with re-designing a room.

  • Anyone who's always wanted to try their hand at interior design.

It really has made me realise that I do have a huge passion for interiors, but needed a step-by-step guide to get me to think clearly about what I want. I’ve always loved DIY and interiors but limited time has meant that I often just threw things together and didn’t really think things through, always ending up with half finished results that always seemed not quite right!

New Year, New You, New Home (or old home, revitalised!)

Have you resolved to “sort out” a room in your home in 2018?

You’ve finally found your dream home with loads of potential but the to-do list is overwhelming and you don’t know where to start. You know you want to sort out your home décor this year, and make your house into a home that’s a place for living – perfect for reading your book by a cosy fire, cooking up delicious meals for friends and family, throwing amazing parties and relaxing in your bedroom sanctuary at the end of a busy day.

You’ve got big dreams of a gorgeous home and you get a tingly feeling of excitement when you hear the word ‘redecorating’, but as soon as you’re in the shop your mind goes blank and you can feel yourself reaching for those safe neutral colours you always go for.

What if you knew where to start, and had a simple step-by-step process to follow to deliver the room of your dreams?

What if you knew how to choose the right colours to create the mood and feeling you want?

Knew the ideal furniture to work brilliantly in your space?

Could easily choose the perfect accessories?

There is no great secret to creating amazing interiors – it’s about doing the right things in the right order, and taking time and care to think everything through (before you start panic-buying paint samples), with your personality and creative flair added to make your home really ‘you’.

This workshop will teach you that process. You'll know the steps to creating amazing interiors and you'll have the skills and tools to re-design your whole house.

A little bit about your tutor

Sarah Pickard_crop.jpg

Hey there, I’m Sarah! Nice to meet you! I’m a professional interior designer with over seven years’ experience designing both residential and commercial spaces.

I hold a Masters degree and Bachelors degree in design and was in-house Senior Designer for an interior design consultancy before setting up my own business in 2012. Since then I’ve helped over 50 happy clients with their design conundrums.

Ever since I was a kid I’ve loved playing with room layouts, colours, textures, patterns and materials. But it wasn’t until I learned the processes, tools and concepts of interior design that I became really confident in pulling all those shiny things together to create great-looking rooms.

Alongside my interior design consulting work, I teach my students how to re-design their own homes – making their homes work for them and creating spaces that reflect their unique personality and style.

I loved how you can do it in the comfort of your own home and also how it was filmed, at times you felt like it was more of a constructive chat with a friend so it took the formal edge off.

I loved the Facebook interaction! It was fab to have the opportunity to chat with fellow students and to follow each other’s designs. It was also a great way to communicate with Sarah and get feedback on specific decisions.

I am amazed at how much progress I have made in such a relatively short space of time. I feel the decisions I am making are much more considered and I am trying to stay focused on achieving the look I chose for my mood board. I have so much more confidence in my decisions!
